NIVIEM KLANG 8008

Quick Start · Version 1.0

Install

macOS

  1. Download the .pkg installer
  2. Open the installer and follow the prompts (requires administrator password)
  3. The installer places plugins in system-level directories:
    • AU: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/NIVIEM KLANG 8008.component
    • VST3: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/NIVIEM KLANG 8008.vst3
  4. Restart your DAW and scan for new plugins

The plugin is code-signed and notarized by Apple. If macOS still blocks the plugin, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway."

Windows

  1. Ensure Microsoft WebView2 Runtime is installed (pre-installed on Windows 11; download here if needed)
  2. Download and extract the archive
  3. Copy NIVIEM KLANG 8008.vst3 to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\
  4. Restart your DAW and scan for new plugins

Basic Usage

  1. Insert NIVIEM KLANG 8008 on a stereo track (guitar, synth pad, or full mix)
  2. The plugin loads with the Default preset — Barberpole UP mode, 6 peaks, moderate sweep
  3. Press play and listen to the infinite rising sweep
  4. Try these controls first:
    • SWEEP RATE: Turn down for a slower, more hypnotic sweep
    • PEAKS: Click different numbers to hear how peak count changes the density
    • MODE buttons: Try each mode to hear the different movement patterns
    • FEEDBACK: Turn up gradually to intensify the resonances
    • MIX 1: Blend the phased signal with the dry input

Quick Recipes

Classic Barberpole Riser

Mode: UP · Sweep Rate: 0.1-0.3 Hz · Peaks: 6-9 · Depth: 80-100% · Feedback: 10-30% · MIX 1: 50-60%

Authentic Leslie Emulation

Mode: ROT · Sweep Rate: 0.4-0.8 Hz (slow) or 1.5-2.0 Hz (fast) · Peaks: 4-5 · INERTIA: Rot · ROVER: Full · 2MIC: On · Width: 65-80%

Automate Sweep Rate with INERTIA on "Rot" to simulate slow/fast Leslie speed switching.

Subtle Mix Enhancement

Mode: UP · Sweep Rate: 0.02-0.05 Hz · Peaks: 4-5 · Depth: 20-40% · Range: LO · Feedback: 0-10% · MIX 1: 15-25% · Width: 60-80%

Frozen Resonant Filter

Mode: FREEZE · Peaks: 9-15 · Feedback: 40-60% · OSC 2T: 0.05-0.1 Hz · 2T Depth: 30-50% · MIX 1: 50-70%

Sound Design: Alien Textures

Mode: FLIP · Sweep Rate: 1.0-3.0 Hz · Flip Rate: 3.0-8.0 Hz · Peaks: 12-15 · Feedback: 50-70% · DRIVE: 30-60% · Drift: 40-80% · OSC 2T: 2.0-5.0 Hz

Parallel Processing

Insert on a send/aux track. Set MIX 1 and MIX 2 to 100%. Blend with dry signal using the aux fader.

Quick Tips

  • Barberpole illusion works best at slow rates (0.05–0.2 Hz) with 6+ peaks
  • More peaks + more feedback = more resonance (metallic at 15 peaks + 80%)
  • FREEZE + OSC 2T creates a breathing comb filter without sweep motion
  • S&H SHAPE + INERTIA = "broken carousel" that glides between random positions
  • ROVER Full + 2MIC gives the widest, most dramatic stereo rotation
  • FB TILT negative = warm vintage feedback; positive = modern aggressive
  • Stereo Width is true spectral widening (L shifts +detune, R shifts -detune)
  • Set INERTIA to Global when automating Sweep Rate for smooth transitions
  • DRIVE at 0% saves CPU — the 4x oversampled stage is the main cost
  • Close the GUI when not adjusting to save CPU from the WebView UI

Troubleshooting

  • No sound? Check POWER is on, MIX 1 > 0%, OUTPUT > 0%, Input Level > 0%
  • Sweep not moving? Check you're not in FREEZE mode, and OSC-Depth > 0%
  • Too dark? Check FB TILT (set to 0 or positive) and HI/LO Range (switch to HI)
  • Phase correlation negative? Expected with high Width or ROVER+2MIC — reduce for mono compatibility
