NIVIEM Phase II

1. Download the .component (AU) or .vst3 file
2. Copy to your plugin folder:
   • Mac AU: ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
   • Mac VST3: ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/
   • Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\
3. Restart your DAW and scan for new plugins

1. Insert NIVIEM Phase II on your track
2. Enable Fuzz for the classic Ludwig tone
3. Set Trajectory to Vowel for the "yoy-yoy" sound
4. Adjust Animation Rate to taste
5. Play and enjoy the talking filter effect

The Signature Sound

The Ludwig Phase II is famous for its "yoy-yoy" vocal quality:

• Vowel mode moves both formant filters in speech-like patterns
• Fuzz adds harmonics that the formants shape
• Square wave LFO creates abrupt, vocal-like transitions

Formant Filters

• F1: Low formant (250-1000 Hz) — jaw/tongue height
• F2: High formant (800-3000 Hz) — tongue position
• Q: Resonance of both filters

Trajectory Modes

• Parallel: Both filters sweep together
• Counter: Filters sweep in opposite directions
• Vowel: Speech-like pattern — the classic "yoy-yoy"

Animation (LFO)

• Rate: 0.1 - 15 Hz
• Fast/Slow Start: Attack time of LFO
• Tempo Sync: Lock to DAW tempo

Fuzz Section

• Fuzz Amount: Drive level
• Fuzz Character: Transistor (authentic), Tube, Hybrid

• Classic "yoy-yoy": Vowel mode + Fuzz + medium rate
• Primus bass: Counter mode + heavy fuzz + slow rate
• Sonic Youth: Vowel mode + light fuzz + expression pedal
• Vintage Variation: Enable for unit-to-unit character differences
• Expression pedal: MIDI CC for real-time formant control
• FFM/BOTH/FUZZ RPT: Controls how animation affects fuzz interaction
